International Western Union transfers
Since February 24, 2022, the NBU has prohibited international money transfers from Ukraine.
However, Nova Post still allows you to receive a money transfer from abroad in Ukraine.

How to send money from abroad
- 1Find a Western Union branch.
- 2Present your passport to the cashier and provide your personal details:
- 2.1Last name
- 2.2First name
- 2.3Address
- 2.4Phone number.
- 3Provide the recipient's details:
- 3.1Your first and last name
- 3.2Country of receiving the transfer
- 3.3Transfer amount
- 4Pay the service fee at the Western Union commission.
- 5Get a receipt with the transfer number (MTCN). This number must be shared with the recipient.
How to get a money transfer in Ukraine

- 2Tell the cashier:
- 2.1Western Union transfer number. The number must be provided by the sender of the transfer
- 2.2Full name of the sender
- 2.3Country from which the transfer was sent
- 3Provide documents proving your identity.
- 4Receive the transfer after verifying the data.
Documents that may be provided to prove your identity
For Ukrainian residents:
- 1Passport of a citizen of Ukraine
- 2Passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad: without a stamp of permanent residence abroad
- 3Temporary certificate of a citizen of Ukraine
- 4Permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- 5Refugee certificate issued in Ukraine
- 6Supplementary protection certificate
For a non-resident of Ukraine:
- 1Temporary residence permit: either on paper or an ID card
- 2Passport of a citizen of a foreign state
- 3Certificate of a person granted temporary protection in Ukraine
- 4Diplomatic passport of a foreign citizen
The funds are returned to the sender if the recipient does not appear to receive the transfer within 90+ calendar days. To receive a refund, the sender must submit a request to the Western Union office.
Service restrictions and conditions
- 1Transfers are only paid out in UAH.
- 2The transfer amount without opening an account should not exceed 200,000 ₴.
- 3The exchange rate of the transfer is set by Western Union, an international payment system. The sender will receive information about the exchange rate, payment amount, and restrictions in the country to which the money is sent at the time of the transfer.
- 4You cannot receive a transfer from Belarus and Russia at Nova Post branches. To get a refund, the sender must revoke the transfer.
